How Docket Central protects your data and your firm’s information
Data Handling

Docket Central processes case-related information provided by law firms, including court emails, court documents (PDFs), and related metadata used to organize and manage traffic matters.

Your data is used solely to provide the Docket Central service. We do not sell, share, or monetize client data.

Gmail Integration

What we access:

  • Email messages from sender addresses you configure in Settings.
  • Email metadata (date, subject, sender).

How it works:

  • You specify which email addresses to import from (e.g., TVB notification addresses).
  • Our system reads those emails and attempts to parse court-related data.
  • Only emails containing recognizable traffic ticket information are fully stored.
  • For emails that don't match known court formats, we retain only the message ID and basic metadata (sender, subject, date) to prevent duplicate processing.

What we do NOT access:

  • Emails from senders you haven't configured.
  • Contacts, calendar, or other Google services.

Data retention:

  • Imported email content is processed and stored securely.
  • You can disconnect Gmail access anytime from Settings.
  • Data may be deleted upon request following account termination.

Limited Use Disclosure:

Docket Central's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Infrastructure & Access Controls

Docket Central is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure using industry-standard best practices.
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Access is restricted using role-based permissions
• Each firm’s data is logically isolated
• Administrative access is limited

Application Logic & Automation

Docket Central uses deterministic rules and pattern-based extraction to process court emails and documents. These rules were developed to reliably extract structured data from court-generated materials without applying machine-learning models to client data.

While AI-assisted tools were used during development to help design and refine these extraction patterns, client data is not processed by AI models as part of the live application today.

As the platform evolves, optional AI-powered features may be introduced, always with transparency and appropriate safeguards.

Compliance Approach

Docket Central is designed with legal industry security expectations in mind, including principles aligned with SOC 2 and standard data protection practices.

Security and privacy are foundational to the platform’s architecture and operational processes, regardless of whether automation is rules-based or AI-assisted.

Data Retention & Deletion

Client data is retained for the duration of an active account and may be deleted upon request following account termination.

We work with firms to ensure data is handled responsibly throughout the lifecycle of their account.
